ViewSonic released details of a new contest positioned to boost the technology pool of one lucky grand prize winning school.
ViewSonic invites Canadian K-12 and higher education teachers, administrators, and other school figures registered to the ViewSonic ViewSchool Program, to visit the Canada School Makeover contest page and share their story of how updating technology will assist them in reaching their curriculum goals, and what benefits a technology upgrade may have on their school.
The winners will be selected and announced during May 2011, and the runner up in second place will receive $1000.00 in ViewSonic products. But what’s the grand prize??
The grand prize winner of the ViewSonic Canada School Makeover contest will win $10,000.00 in ViewSonic products to enhance technology for education – including 3D Projectors, TV’s, and even ViewPad tablets.
While $10,000.00 is sure to enhance the learning experience at the school which is awarded such kindness, the truth is the grand prize simply pale’s in comparison to what we would expect from a company with a cash flow like theirs.
To put it in perspective, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg donated $100 Million dollars of his own personal wealth to the struggling New Jersey (USA) school district last year.
A $10,000.00 grand prize? No one’s going to complain about winning, but it just seems a bit under achieving in terms of transcending an educational experience.
